COLOR MANAGEMENT

The advent of the digital age has revolutionized the photography industry, giving the photographer utmost control over the quality of his images at every step of the image-production process.

The photographer no longer relies solely on the image captured during the shoot. He now has the capability to manipulate the image in countless ways to achieve perfection.

However, when the photographer brings his images to his regular photo lab, he is almost always disappointed because the prints don't look quite the same way as they did in his monitor at home.

This happens because different hardware interpret colors in different ways. Even the images on television sets in appliance stores, even if they're all on the same channel, appear different in color, in brightness, and in contrast.

To address this problem, DPI Photography Center adopted a Color Management System that helps us attain accurate colors at each step of the image-to-print process. Our computer monitors are calibrated with top of the line hardware and software. We also calibrate our printers three times a day to keep our output as consistent as possible. We have also collaborated with color management experts in the United States to create custom Printer Profiles for each of our printers and paper stocks. The result is a very high level of color accuracy from monitor to print.

Our challenge is to help our customers achieve the same accurate colors right in their home, so that they know how their pictures will come out if they come to DPI Photography Center for their printing needs.

We encourage you to read the article below to help you get the colors you want on your prints.
